Adviser network vital for IPM dissemination

A European network of advisers with access to the web-based Endure information centre containing applied information will be instrumental in implementing integrated pest management principles on farm, according to Rothamsted Research’s Bill Clark.
“We need advisers to interpret the information within the information centre. Some will be immediately applicable by farmers but it is really the advisers who will translate the research information into practice,” he said.
The Endure Information Centre had more than 1200 science-based, applied information articles on IPM in English from all over Europe, said Silke Dachbrodt-Saaydeh from Germany’s Julius Kuehn Institute.
Users are able to search for relevant information on crops, pests and integrated control measures.
