POPULAR pre-emergence grassweed killer Avadex (tri-allate) will be available in very limited quantities this autumn through new owner Gowan International.

The granular herbicide will be available in the normal 15kg bags from late August, following Gowan‘s acquisition of the product from Monsanto earlier this year.

Four merchants will offer the product – Banks Cargill, Masstock Arable, Hutchinsons and United Agri Products.

Prices will be up on previous years to cover on-going technical support and Annex 1 EU registration, says Gowan‘s Bill Catling. Full availability is planned for 2005.
