Barley makes malting in Norfolk

Ed Lankfer at Laurel Farm in Wereham, Norfolk, said things were going “almost too well”.

He was very pleased with 40ha of winter barley which made malting quality. It yielded 7.75t/ha, which was the same as last year.

Ten hectares of Castille oilseed rape was good quality and yielded 4t/ha. He was pleased it was all dry at 10%.

Mr Lankfer also finished all the oats which yielded 7.5t/ha. He has started cutting wheat which all looked well and of good quality.
