Buying group confident of higher turnover
Agricultural buying group Anglia Farmers predicts annual turnover will be up 13% by early 2011, after half-year results revealed strong growth.
Turnover for the six months to the end of July was ÂŁ81.2m and the group’s forecast to the end of January 2011 is ÂŁ160m, some ÂŁ18m more than last year.
Chief executive Clarke Willis said membership had grown steadily and existing members were spending more with the company. Turnover had the potential to reach ÂŁ250m, he said.
“Unlike most business scenarios where ‘turnover is vanity’ this cannot be said for a turnover levy-based purchasing group. Our business model means increasing volumes to negotiate better prices.”
