From mapping and scouting to meeting compliance needs, satellite imagery and disease forecasting, the system aims to transform data into actionable insights.
Sam Fordham, head of technical at the data firm, explains how the platform now offers a suite of tools encompassing agronomy, nutrition, soil and pest management, all linked to land parcels.
“Farm businesses are faced with increasing record-keeping and complex paperwork and this tool aims to make this simpler,” he says.
The platform is constantly evolving. You can now tag documents and photos to specific land parcels.
Global leader in farm management software Tellus Agriculture is rolling out its crop management tool, which will be fully integrated with the Contour platform, offering seamless data transition.
“We want to ensure users are using the right tool, at the right time, in the right place. Data connectivity is key and this tailored platform approach will ensure users get the most from that data in a flexible way,” says Ben.
IPM plans
- The options in the plan cover arable, horticultural and grass land uses
- Plans are created per farm per year (plans can be created for multiple farms at once if practices allow)
- Multiple plans can be created for the same farm and year. For example, if users need require a plan for the grass operation and another for the arable
- The IPM template is compliant for SFI applications for IPM1
