Oilseed rape harvest has finished for James Coumbe on Sentry Farms, in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. Astrid and Escort yielded 3.75t/ha and 3.1t/ha respectively and quality looked good. He said although the wet weather held them back a bit last week (w/e August 7) things were looking good now.

Eighty hectares of Soissons wheat yielded 7.5-8t/ha which he was fairly happy with. He was also pleased the weather was now dry so the crops were coming in dry.

He said: “It all looks very good, we’re generally quite pleased.”
