Harvest proving a washout – update

Stephan Betts said he‘s “waterlogged” on his farm near Thornham, Norfolk.

It‘s been raining again today (13 Aug) and he needs at least two hot and dry days before he will think of starting to get going.

“We‘ve got a lot of wheat to do and haven‘t cut any yet – put it this way; it‘s not been the happiest days of my life.”

He‘s got 180ha (450 acres) of Claire with parts that have lodged because of the wet and windy weather.

The story is much the same around his area, as very few people have made any progress on the wheat.
