Herefordshire crops look well, despite drought

Peter Bawn predicted a “potentially good” harvest on Garnon’s Estate in Bynon, Herefordshire.

Castille, Expert and Astrid oilseed rape all “seem to be looking well and have good potential”.

Despite the lack of rain, Mr Bawn said: “The crops seem to be hanging on remarkably well at the moment.”

He predicted the wheat to be ready by 15 August, which was “still early”.

“Things are looking better than last year at the moment.”
