Hull barley and OSR look good

Hull farmer David Kirkwood was waiting for fine weather to cut the rest of his barley and oilseed rape.

Pict winter barley yielded over 8.5t/ha which was up on last year, whereas Winner oilseed rape was down on last year, yielding 3.75t/ha.

The quality of both the barley and the oilseed rape were looking good.

Mr Kirkwood suggested his wheat would also be good this year, as long as the weather stayed fine.
