Keep your harvest photos pouring in
Harvest progress remains variable across the country – but Farmers Weekly readers are still grabbing plenty of pictures to share on our gallery.
The Harvest Highlights gallery – which has more than 400 photos in it – provides a pictorial record of who’s cutting what and where – and if you grab a photo or two while you’re harvesting and put it in there, you could be in with a chance of seeing it appear on the front cover of Farmers Weekly magazine.
Here are just four of the recent additions:
Combining Panorama wheat on Saturday 4 August at W J Higgins & Son, Middlegate Farm, Pitney, Somerset. “Both yields and bushel weights were disappointing at 3t/acre and 68 respectively,” said FWi user “higgins”.
F A Ollerton & Sons combining oilseed rape between rain showers near Wigan in Lancashire.
“Snatching the barley off later than usual, but while the straw was hardly fit,” said FWi user “heycountryboy”. “Trying the new combine out – I had a day off the usual office job to help!”
Thanks to “CerealJoe” for sharing this shot showing Digby “supervising” Jamie Stokes harvesting oilseed rape on his New Holland CR9080 in Warboys, Cambridgeshire.
