Ministers to join visitors at Cereals 2010
Thousands of arable farmers are preparing to descend on the Cereals 2010 site near Royston, Cambridgeshire which opens its gates on Wednesday (9 June).
The event is Europe’s leading event for the arable sector drawing about 400 exhibitors and over 26,000 visitors
DEFRA secretary Caroline Spelman and farm minister Jim Paice are due to tour the show over its two-day run.
Mr Paice will appear on the opening day, while Mrs Spelman will attend on Thursday (10 June).
The event will have 10ha of working machinery demonstrations and a line up of 52 trailed, mounted and self-propelled sprayers from over 23 manufacturers.
More than 90 different crops plots will also be presented, offering growers the chance to see new innovations first-hand.
The Oxford Farming Conference will also be staging a new summer conference where agricultural science and the Campaign for the Farmed Environment will be debated.
