New control for grain pests

A NEW insecticide will give growers greater choice for the control of a range of grain pests, makers claim.

ProStore combines bifenthrin and malathion, which when used together have synergistic effects that improve performance, said Helen Pruul from manufacturers, FMC.

“It can be applied to the store itself or to the grain. There is no withholding period or any residue issues.”

It can be used on wheat, barley and oats, she noted.

Two formulations of the product are available, for either conventional dilution or spot spraying and also for ultra-low-volume application in automated grain handling systems, the firm said.

Nickerson will handle ProStore for the UK market.
