A LEADING UK distributor has claimed it is setting up the first ever intranet at Cereals.

Grainfarmers UAP is using the system on its stands to demonstrate Web Asset, its on-line encyclopaedia of pesticide-based information.

Recently revamped and now available direct to growers, Web Asset provides product information on agrochemical labels, product safety datasheets and environmental information sheets for around 20,000 legal agchem uses across 500 different crops.

“This is all the basic information growers need to meet every day legislative requirements together in one place,” said UAP‘s marketing director, Lawrence Hicks.

The system has been developed over five years and is used by the company‘s agronomist‘s to support field recommendations.

Monitored by UAP‘s technical team and continuously updated, the front end of the in-house database is available to growers over internet.
