“They‘re looking good. We‘ve had a good run,” said Mr Walker.

Yields were very variable, with some places having very high yields while other areas only produced poor yields, he said.

“It was wet when we planted and then it was very dry in May which made things difficult.”

There are no signs of rot or blight in Mr Walker‘s potatoes, but he has not received that much rainfall on his farm, in comparison to other areas.

“We missed out on most of the showers which is quite lucky really.”
