Peter Seaman on Great Farm in Norwich saw reasonable yields on his Pearl winter barley, very slightly up on last year at 6.75t/ha.

One hundred hectares of the crop looked of good quality and he suggested the nitrogen in the area was around 1.55-1.65%.

Mr Seaman said Maris Otter barley was looking good and hoped the yields will be slightly up on last year at 6t/ha.

Both his Pearl and Maris Otter barleys are sold on an advance contract, and he added prices are marginally up for this year.
