Smooth progress in Norfolk
It’s “going fairly smoothly” for Sarah Kerkhan in King’s Lynn, Norfolk.
With 140ha of Pearl winter barley cut, the yield varied between 5 and 6.25t/ha.
Nitrogen levels of 1.45-1.75% were lower than last year, but she said: “It is of a good quality”.
She noted some screening issues but overall was “happy with the crop”.
“We’re just glad we got what we wanted finished before it rained.”
