Strob resistance advice in barley
RESISTANCE TO strobilurin fungicides in barley net blotch is not all bad news, the right choice of fungicide mix still offering scope for good control, says SAC pathologist Simon Oxley.
He recommends using strobilurin partners with good protectant activity, such as cyprodinil (Unix) or prothioconazole (Proline). A mix to avoid is chlorothalonil (Bravo) and strobilurin, which relies totally on the strobilurin for net blotch control and could raise resistance risks.
