Variable Expert oilseed rape yields

Wiltshire farmer David Hues on Galteemore Farm in Beckhampton said Expert oilseed rape yields were good and bad. One hundred and eighty hectares yielded an average of 3.25t/ha with the best at over 4t/ha. Other fields yielded only 2.5t/ha which he said may have been due to disease on the lighter land.

Mr Hues said Telar spring barley was going ok, but had gone very flat in the field. He was happy that it came in dry to avoid paying high diesel prices.

He is ready to start cutting wheat which was looking well with good quality.
