Oilseed rape harvest has finished with varied yields for Paul Carter on Sherbourne Castle Estates in Dorset.

Two hundred and twenty hectares of oilseed rape averaged 3.8t/ha, with low biomass varieties Caracus and Astrid yielding over 4t/ha. Yields of Maplus have generally been lower at 3.65t/ha, but quality looks good, he said.

He added the wheats were fit and the quality also looked good, but he just wanted the weather to stay fine.
