Worcester wheat below average

Ian Sparey from Clifton on Teme, Worcester, said oilseed rape was good considering last autumn’s poor drilling weather. Winner yielded just over 2.5t/ha, and quality was ok, he said.

Wheat is only just ripe enough to cut, but he said it is going well. Einstein is yielding 7.75t/ha, which is just below the 9t/ha average. Mr Sparey is happy with this yield, and the sample looks good, with moisture at 15%.
