Milk meetings

The future of the dairy industry is the topic of a series of nationwide meetings organised by the Milk Development Council due to be held over the next few weeks.

Farmers, representatives from big milk processing companies and co-ops, NFU and government will be teaming up with MDC economics experts for the series of meetings, due to be held across England, Wales and Scotland.

The aim of the Dairy Industry Debates is to give farmers the chance to find out more about how the industry works and where dairying is heading, said MDC senior economist Richard George.

“Many farmers would like to understand exactly what drives their milk price and gain a better understanding of where the markets for milk are going, but simply do not have the time to research it.”
