Last-minute SFP forms flood RPA

MORE THAN 65,000 single farm payment forms were not submitted until the last week of the application window, according to the Rural Payments Agency.

The deadline for applications to be received without penalties applying was Mon (May 16).

A spokeswoman for the agency said on May 10 the agency had only received 45,000 forms.

But when the RPA offices closed at the end of the day on May 16 the total had risen to more than 110,000.

The spokeswoman described the number of forms that had flooded in over the course of the last week as “quite staggering”.
