Letters explain Tir Cynnal rules
LETTERS ARE being sent to every farmer across Wales explaining some important changes to the Tir Cynnal application process.
Farmers are being asked on the Single Application Form whether they will sign up to the new agri-environment scheme
The letter states that farmers should complete the SAF as accurately as possible and submit it by the 16 May 2005 deadline.
But as reported by FARMERS WEEKLY previously (click here) they now have until Sept 30 2005 to change the Tir Cynnal codes in Section 12, without penalty.
Also any farmer applying for the scheme can choose to withdraw, without penalty, at any time from when they submit their application to when they are offered an agreement.
Farmers who estimate their habitat incorrectly on their Tir Cynnal section of the form are also assured that this will not impact on their single payment application.
NFU Cymru said the letters had been sent thanks to pressure put on the Welsh Assembly government by the union.
