Show society to sell investment land
Lincolnshire Agricultural Society is selling 28ha (70 acres) of investment land next door to its Grange de Lings showground. This will provide further funds to support and develop the show and the events centre, which attracts many non-agricultural shows, conferences and exhibitions.
J H Walter has set a £500,000 guide price for the prime limestone arable land which it will sell at auction on 19 July at North Carlton Cliff, Lincoln. The point-to-point course, on separate land but also adjacent to the showground, is unaffected by the sale, said the society.
“It’s not an easy decision for a board with farming blood to sell farmland, but we are sure this is the right decision, as it is exactly what this land was bought for,” said society treasurer Jane Hiles. (J H Walter 01522 504 360)
