Yorkshire arable unit offers scale and scope

A large versatile arable farm in four lots will bring the Yorkshire market to life when it launches next week.

Lingholm Farm at Lebberston sits between Filey and Scarborough on 1,112 acres of good Grade 3 land.

Close to the North Yorkshire coast, Lingholm Farm has large field sizes with a range of soil types growing mainly combinable crops, but also roots and vegetables.

The owners have invested in and improved the farm and are selling to move south to another holding. Buildings, drainage and soil health have been the focus of the improvements.

Soil type is mainly Burlingham 2 series – deep, fine loamy soils with slowly permeable subsoils, also areas of Adventurers’ 1 peat and Newport 1 sandy loam on the southern part of the farm.

“This is a well-invested farm, the owners have worked tirelessly to look after, maintain and improve it to produce fantastic yields, even in the challenging conditions of 2012,”
