2010 Farmers Weekly Awards: Sponsors committed to UK agriculture

Supporting British farmers and the value they play in today’s society is the simple motive behind the Farmers Weekly Awards, confirmed sponsors at a recent Awards winners’ and sponsors’ meeting in Warwickshire.



Louise Welsh from Morrisons, who is “delighted to have joined the Awards sponsoring team this year”, confirmed that the retailer was totally committed to British sheep producers, with 100% of lamb in its stores produced by this country’s farmers.


Helping to develop the businesses of the next generation is also important, said Massey Ferguson’s Tony Cox: “Recognising – and helping – young farmers who might be the leaders of the future is very important.”


The Awards are also about valuing the work that advisers make: “They are critical to improving the bottom line of farming businesses” said Louise Alpin from BPI, the manufacturer of Silotite. You can hear their views on this video:
