Cereals 2010: Local residents open up their homes

Residents of an Essex village are opening their homes to visitors of the forthcoming Cereals event as a means of raising money for the local parish church.

About ten villagers of Chrishall and surrounding villages have offered their houses as guesthouses, all located within 7 miles of the showground, to people attending the annual Cereals event and aim to make the stay of their guests as luxurious as possible

Marcus West, a Churchwarden in Chrishall said: “Because of our proximity to the show site and the comparative lack of hotels and guest houses in the district, we think that this scheme may prove attractive as well as helping our local churches.”

Cereals attracted 26,500 visitors last year.
