British Blonde bulls hit high of 4,500gns at Borderway

British Blonde bulls sold to a top of 4,500gns at the society’s spring show and sale at Carlisle.

 

Sale leader was Shanvally Haddon consigned by the Savage Brothers and Son from Kells, Ballymena. Sired by Clarkhill Reliant this June 2012-born youngster is out of the Druk Lance daughter Moyola Velvet. He was bought by WAM Hall,  Kirkholm, Stranraer.

Next best at 3,800gns was the junior, male and supreme champion Hallfield Hagrid, from P Weightman and Sons, Peterlee, Co Durham. Sired by the Druk Genesis son Blackwater Ainsley he is out of the Ballygowan Noble daughter Hallfield Spice. The hammer fell to I Woodhead, Thirsk, North Yorkshire.

 

His stable mate Hallfield Griffon sold for 3,500gns to E Burgess, New Abbey, Dumfries, having won the senior championship earlier in the day. Also sired by Blackwater Ainsley he is out of Hallfield Tilly, another Ballygowan Noble daughter.

 

WB and S Shaw, from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, invested 3,000gns when purchasing the reserve overall champion Hallfield Handyman. He too is sired by Blackwater Ainsley, but is out of the Megray Serendipity daughter Hallfield Cream.

 

Leading female trade was Gleniffer Iris from AR Walker, Auchinlech, Ayrshire. Sired by Ark Diego she is out of the Edendale Jigsaw daughter Gleniffer Daisy. She headed to Stranraer with W Hall.
