British Blondes make 4,200gns at Carlisle
Savage Bros and Son captured the leading sum of 4,200gns at the British Blonde Society’s autumn show and sale at Borderway Mart, Carlisle last week (23 October) with their female and supreme champion Shanvalley Jade.
This March 2014 daughter of Seaview Barney and out of Shanvalley Gertie was snapped up by TB Moorhouse and Sons, Fouldshaw Farm, Harrogate.
Messrs Moorhouse also acquired another Shanvalley heifer for 3,000gns this time Shanvalley Justine, a May 2014 daughter of Seaview Barney and out of Sanvalley Donna.
Leading the bulls was Cairneden Jagermeister from Kelly Stott. Securing this one for 3,600gns was Alison Ellwood, Everard Lodge Farm, Ulverston.
The senior male champion Hallfield Ivor from P Weightman and Sons was knocked down for 2,800gns to B and S Scrymgeour, Kinnaird Farm, Kirriemuir. He is a December 2013 son of Ardmore Fugitive and out of a homebred cow Hallfield Fantasy.
Also at the same money was G and A Hamilton with Ramrig Jensen Interceptor. By Hallfield Falcon and out of Ramrig Gemini he sold to PL Morris, Rymans, Aylesbury.
