British Blues lead the way at Skipton
A British Blue-cross heifer sold for a top price of £1174 at the monthly prime cattle and lamb show at Skipton Auction Mart this week.
The pre show cattle champion was sold by L Balmforth and Sons, Hoyle Bottom Farm, Wainstalls to Keelham Hall Farm Shop, Thornton, Bradford.
The reserve champion, British Blue-cross heifer, from Craven Cattle Marts’ Stockperson of the Year, Jimmy Baines of Gisburn and Trawden, sold for the next best price of £998.

The first prize British Blue bullock from Keith Downs, Milner Field, Bingley was bought by Keelham Hall Farm Shop for £867.50.
Among the lambs, a five strong pen of 41kg Beltex-cross lambs from Frankland Farms, Rathmell, Settle sold for £79 each to Gerald Medcalf of Jagger Green, Halifax.
