Buffalo offering a ready-made diversification enterprise
Rural consultant Fisher German is offering one of the UK’s leading herds of store and breeding buffalo for sale as a going concern.
Peak Buffalo, a highly successful buffalo meat enterprise owned and operated by the Gill family and based on the Chatsworth estate, Derbyshire, is being sold in its entirety due to the ill health of one of the partners.
The 120-strong breeding herd includes butchery and storage equipment and 11 exclusive stalls at farmers’ markets.
Fisher German’s provisional budgets for Peak Buffalo show and annual margin before interest and depreciation of over £42,000, based on its current herd size. The whole enterprise is guided at £450,000.
Fisher German’s David Merton said: “This is a unique opportunity to buy a profitable niche farming business.
“For a farmer with entrepreneurial flair, for someone who’s fed up with the hum-drum commodities of conventional farming enterprises, or for someone new to farming looking for a cutting-edge route into agriculture, there could be no better chance to buy into a richly-rewarding way of life.”
