Call for farmers to enter Farmers Weekly Awards

Do you know a beef, sheep, dairy or pig farmer who has a business enterprise that impresses you? Or are you a producer who works hard, is innovative and committed to the future of agriculture?

If this sounds like you, or someone you know, then maybe the Farmers Weekly Awards are something worth considering entering. Farmers Weekly is looking for positive producers seeking a way forward in a currently challenging industry.

The closing date for entries is not until 30 April so there is still plenty of time to get your entries and nominations in.

There are many reasons why entering these awards can benefit your business. As well as giving you, your family and staff recognition for hard work and commitment, being shortlisted for an award opens doors to new industry contacts, clients and supplier deals.

In 2008, Andrew Freemantle won Pig Farmer of the Year. He says the extra publicity he received would have cost him thousands of pounds and has proved essential in marketing his produce and farm shop.

The aim of the awards is to showcase the best farmers in the country, so put modesty aside and fill in an entry form. Even if you don’t want to enter yourself we need your help to find the best livestock producers out there.

You never know, it could be you collecting that award this year at the prestigious event held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, on 3 October.
