A small early season entry of couples at Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s Sedgemoor market last Saturday sold to a strong trade, particularly for the quality outfits with larger lambs.
Best of the day were M C and N J Ford with Suffolk cross two lamb ewes with twins at foot selling at £190 (£63.33/life). A smart run from L Habberfield and Sons saw Poll Dorset full mouth ewes with twins sell to a top of £188 (£62.67/life).
Suffolk crosses with twins at foot B G, D E and S J Howell sold to a high of £184 (£61.33/life), while Charollais cross full mouth ewes with twins from C L Popham peaked at £170 (£56.67/life). Overall the 73 ewes and 114 lambs averaged £56.76/life.
