Inauguaral Ruby Red yearling show draws quality

As a showcase for young cattle the inauguaral Ruby Red Devon yearling show certainly proveed successful with more than 50 head forward in six classes.

Taking the overall championship was Mike and Sue Lanz’s January 2008-born heifer Wellshead Lace 3.

In reserve spot was S G Philips’ bull Colleton Halcyon, a March 2008-born entry.

On the same day the society also held a Novice Showman competition for young handlers. Taking overall honours here was 16 year-old Jack Gordon, Barnstapble, while reserve went to Sophie Stephens, Wheddon Cross.
