“These animals are top bloodlines that don’t often come available,” said Mr Graham. “I very much hope they will add to the quality of Limousin genetics in the Grahams herd. Both are cows with a proven record and are really good breeders.”
Next at 18,000gns was stock bull Ballinloan Jericho, a 2014-born Ampertaine Foreman son out of Anside Struss daughter Ballinloan Beauty.
He was sold to Kedzlie Farm, Lauderdale, for use in the Swalesmoor herd.
At 17,000gns was another female, Ironstone Lavender, a 2015-born heifer. She is another Wilodge Vantastic daughter out of Bailea Umelia and sold in-calf to Ballinloan Jericho to Messrs Jenkinson, Whinfellpark herd, Penrith, Cumbria.
The Jenkinsons were back in the bidding to snap up Ironstone Laura for 14,000gns. She is a full ET sister to the top-priced Dumandy. She sold with her Ballinloan Jericho bull calf, Ironstone Otis, at foot.
