Lockerbie North Country Cheviots to £1200

Last Saturday’s sale of North Country Cheviot ewes at Lockerbie saw prices reach a peak of £1200 for the champion from the pre-sale show, a shearling ewe shown in the Park section from leading breeders Jimmy and Willie Thomson, Hownham Grange, Kelso.

Next best at £920 was another shearling ewe from the Park section, this time consigned by C R Graham and Sons, Carruthers, Waterbeck. Both  the top priced lots sold to James Burton, Derbyshire.

Leading the flock ewes in the Park section was another from the Grahams which sold at £850 to Kelsocleugh Farming, Kelso, while another from the same consignment made £700 to Messrs Williams, Northampton.

Top price in the hill section was a £500 sale for the pre-sale champion, once again this came from the Thomson’s offering and this time sold to J R Westall, Halifax. (Harrison and Hetherington).
