Middleton Swaledale ewe lambs reach £300

It looks like the bumper earnings being enjoyed by Mule breeders this year are also being transferred to Swaledale flocks too, with a top call of £300 at Friday’s sale of Swaledale ewe lambs at Middleton in Teesdale.

Taking the top price were the first prize pen of 10 from J C and J White, Rigg Farm. These sold to A and K M Barnes.Mid Swale Gms 170910 crop.JPG

Overall 4630 lambs sold to average £75.32, up £10.70 on last year for 801 more sold.
