EPIC awards recognise poultry excellence

Peter Bradnock and Matthew Davies took home Poultry Person of the Year and Young Poultry Person of the Year, respectively, at this year’s EPIC awards.

Mr Bradnock has served as chief executive of the BPC for more than 20 years and is tasked with promoting and raising the profile of the industry, both in the UK and abroad. He said he was proud to be part of the British poultry industry, which he called a “vibrant sector with tremendous potential”.

John Reed, chairman of the BPC, said under Mr Bradnock’s leadership the BPC had become a “strong and relevant partner for the government, politicians, the media and consumers”.

The first EPIC Young Poultry Person of the Year award went to Matthew Davies, 30, who works for family firm David Davies and Co and is a member of the Nuffield Poultry Group. The award was set up in memory of Clive Frampton, who died in March this year.

Mr Davies said he was “moved and overjoyed” to be recognised within his business and the wider industry.
