Cocks – a photographic record

The Happy Egg Co set the bar pretty high with its “Nice Pecks” calendar in 2013, featuring “12 ravishing roosters”.

But that bar has been cleared by a country mile with the following offering from Singapore-based freelance photographer Ernest Goh. Photographed for his book “Cocks”, the images of Serama chickens form part of a wider project exploring the “close relationship between animals and their human masters”.

“As a photographer, I am always interested in photographing the human condition,” says Mr Goh. “But this human condition does not exist in a vacuum as we share the natural world with animals. My interest in photographing animals is a natural extension of my interest in the human condition.”
