Peter Cumbers celebrates 10 years at Joice and Hill
Peter Cumbers is celebrating 10 years at Hendrix-owned hatchery Joice and Hill, and has reflected on “what a difference” 10 years can make.
Mr Cumbers, a sales manager, joined the firm when it was a local Norfolk hatchery. During his time working there he has seen it expand nationally.
“Ten years ago I could never have imagined we would need a hatchery capable of hatching 15,000,000 chicks a year,” he said.
Mr Cumbers told Poultry World that over his time at Joice and Hill there had been major changes to the industry.
“Consumer awareness of eggs as a safe and sustainable food has at last swung in our favour,” he said.
He added that he believed the entire sector had “risen to the challenge of supplying a healthy food, produced in line with the expectations of the modern consumer”.
