Simmys sell to 3,500gns at Worcester

The Crackley and Greenfields joint production sale of Simmental cattle from Booth and Bell and G Green respectively at Worcester last Saturday (10 October), saw keen bidding from purchasers and a sale high of 3,500gns.

Leading trade was Crackley Cadette 189E, a polled in calf heifer by Holm Danni and in calf to Curraheen Conchise. Securing this one was David Wall, Curraheen, Dublin.

Ireland were also on the score sheet when early in the sale Crackley Cadette 115V, a fifth calver with heifer calf at foot, levelled at an impressive 3,000gns selling to Raymond O’Malley, Ardee, Co, Meath.

Also securing bloodlines to take back to Ireland was John Tuohy, Whitegate, Co Galway, taking home Crackley Iris 92F, a maiden heifer by Tiset Darwin, another polled bull imported from Denmark. This one was knocked down at 3,000gns.

The Greenfields herd also enjoyed a brisk support with Greenfields Chrystal a second calver by a home bred bull out of a homebred cow with a young bull calf at foot being taken by S Hughes, Wrexham, North Wales at 1,880gns.
