Welshpool Limousin catalogue offers fair selection

The sale of Limousins at Welshpool on Thursday (I’ve found a catalogue now) has a fair selection of bulls on offer and there are several well bred sorts which may find favour with buyers.

For what its worth here are a few of my choices; the second lot in, Alwyn Carwyn Alwen is an interesting one, being by Limo Tanat, he should be a good correct bull with fair figures of his sire is anything to go by.

Next for my pick is Tremlows Charlie, by Kype Orkney, a Cloughhead Lord son, he’s out of a dam by Haltcliffe Hercules.

Lodge Cabanas, by Ronick Urinocco out of a Ronick Luke dam could be worth a look too and Brynglas Charlie, a Sympa son out of a Ronick Idol sired dam could be there or thereabouts.

Anyone wanting some historic breeding would be well worth looking at Alwen Cadfan, a Ronick Hawk daughter out of a Jockey-sired dam.

Sympa features again as sire of Dolcorsllwyn Cymro, which is out of Dolcorsllwyn Alaw, a Genial daughter. Another good French sire Ionesco is there in Aldan Cymro which is out of a Brockhurst Nat sired dam.

Futher on is Tonka son Alwen Carlos and Cloughhead Umpire son Dolcorsllwyn Czar. I’ve not studied the females closely, but the first cow and calf could be worth a stab, Dolcorsllwyn Uptowngirl, a Goldies Oswald daughter out of a Cannon-sired dam, with a calf at foot by Soleil.

We’ll have to wait and see how right or wrong I am….
