Amazone Catros harrow gets factory-fitted slurry distributor

A new Pro version of Amazone’s Catros compact disc harrow comes with a factory-fitted slurry distribution system that allows buyers to complete shallow cultivations and apply nutrients in the same pass.

The Vogelsang SynCult DosiMat DMX can send up to 10,000 litres/min through a series of hoses positioned behind the first row of 510mm serrated discs.

While these open the soil, a second set covers the slurry over. According to Amazone, this two-stage disturbance minimises ammonia emissions and encourages quicker nutrient uptake by the following crop.

Discs are individually suspended on rubber sausages to follow the bumps and hollows of field surfaces and can work to a depth of between 50mm and 140mm.

Their position is set hydraulically on the firm’s “smart frame”, allowing alterations to be made without any top link tampering.

Options at the back include an SW 600 Pro cage or DUW 580 double U-profile roller, both of which have been designed specifically for the Catros Pro.

Alternatively, mounted 6m and 7m models are available with a lighter weight double harrow that helps with trash distribution and leaves a more open finish.

Buyers can also spec a 200- or 500-litre GreenDrill seeder to sow catch crops simultaneously, and an automatic central lubrication system for the hinge points and distributor.

Mounted variants are available in 5m, 6m and 7m widths, while trailed 8m and 9m TXs come with their own running gear for fitment behind a high-capacity twin- or tri-axle self-propelled tanker.
