Cereals 2010: Lemken’s Kristall to replace TerraDisc
Lemken had a new high-speed, shallow stubble cultivator on show. A combination of tines, discs and a press, the Kristall is to replace the TerraDisc/Smaragd.
Launched in 1986, it has been the German firm’s most successful cultivator of all time.
The new machine’s two rows of tines carry flared, twisted wings designed to give an improved mixing effect. A bank of discs level out the surface and can be followed by a range of presses/rollers. A 3m version needs approximately 100hp to run at 10-12kph. The coil-spring auto-reset machine on display costs £11,697.
