Cereals 2026: Grange adds aggressive discs to Top-Tilth cultivator

A new iteration of Grange’s Top-Tilth cultivator sees the original single bank of wavy discs replaced by two rows of trash-churning concave versions.

These add about 500kg to the total weight and are better suited to incorporating stubble and creating seed-bed tilth in a single pass, the company says.

The implement otherwise continues as was, with a row of straight cutting discs creating a path for the low disturbance lift-and-crack legs that follow.

A rear press consolidates the ground once the soil working elements have done their thing.

The pictured model is fitted with a heavy-duty shoulder roller – a lighter, toothed roller is also available – that takes total weight to 5t and power requirement to 300-350hp.

This is at least 50hp more than the wavy disc setup.

However, either the legs or discs can be lifted out of work to form a tine or shallow disc cultivator that will take less pulling.

The 4m machine on show was also armed with a Stocks Turbo Jet i-Con seeder and coulter bar for oilseed rape drilling.

Price for a 4m auto reset version excluding the sowing kit is about £48,000.
