Dairy Event 2010: Robotic scrapper reaches the parts others don’t
When slurry dries out it can be difficult to clear but help is now on hand.
The robotic scraper from Netherlands’ Joz-Tech not only sprays water as it moves but also manages to find its way around a cubicle house to clean not only the main passages but also the intersections which conventional cable systems cannot reach.
Designed to work primarily on slatted areas, the three wheeled, electrically driven 450kg robot can carry up to 80 litres of water and be fitted with a scraper width specified by the purchaser.
With its route pre-programmed, operating duration is put at about 18 hours before re-charging is required – something it also does automatically.
Price of the robot is £12,600 with the water spray unit another £1300.
