Since the demise of the Royal Smithfield and the Royal Show, it’s sadly not often that an international manufacturer chooses a UK exhibition for the European debut of a new tractor range.

But while John Deere’s dealers and the farming press decamped to Portugal early last week for the European launch of the new 7R tractors (among other products), one of the machines made a surprise appearance at Ingliston. The 7280R is the largest in a five-model range of 230-310hp machines.
