Vicon reveals Plus-series variable chamber balers

Vicon has upped the output and lowered operating costs of its RV5200 series variable chamber round baler models.

The Plus-series includes the newly updated RV5216 and RV5220, which produce maximum bale sizes of 1.65m and 2m, respectively.

Upgrades include longer tines and wider stripper plates on the 2.2m-wide pick-up reel to improve cleaning in wet crops. It features the same twin-cam tracks and five tine bars as before, but now carries a bigger, higher-spec drive chain.

There’s also a redesigned roller crop press capable of lifting higher for heavier crops and better protection for the bearings, which are now mounted inside the roller. Both models are available with the Super Feed rotor or 14-knife Super Cut chopping system.

Inside the bale chamber, idler rollers run on bigger bearings, have larger internal grease capacities and get a continuous central shaft, which should add a bit more rigidity.

Other tweaks include centralised grease banks for the bale chamber drive rollers, a new folding pto stand and high-level LED road lights.

Prices for the RV5216 Super Feed model start from £39,908 and the models are also available in Kubota livery.
