Extra capacity from new Trioliet Solomix 3

Large-scale dairy units are becoming a common sight and feeding these monster herds requires even bigger kit to avoid needing extra labour.

French firm Trioleit has launched its new Solomix 3 with capacities of 27, 30 and 34cu m, which we are told should allow 180 cows to be fed in only one or two mixes.

The low-profile machine can access some old-style stumpy sheds, with side discharge doors and front chain or belt conveyor to avoid awkward access.

Despite the large capacity of the new model, it only requires 140-160hp on the front, helping to reduce fuel.

The diet feeders come with a reduction gearbox and cooling system, standard 22mm long-life augers and sneak under European road transport regulations.
