Scotgrass 2010: Guttler 7.7m grass drill rejuvenates tired pastures

A combination of grass-harrow, seeder and serrated ring rolls, the 7.7m Guttler Greenmaster PW 7700 drew the crowds on the grass rejuvenation plots.

Upfront a paddle-type levelling-board precedes two rows of 12mm spring-tines. This module folds directly behind the tractor and is followed by the trailed roller unit.

The seed hopper is carried on an extended drawbar, feeding outlets running directly ahead of the aggressive prism-shaped ring rolls. To achieve maximum effectiveness and outputs of 100 acres a day, speeds of 7-10mph are required, necessitating tractors of at least 130hp.

A 3m version costs £13,303, while the 7.7m model on shows is listed at £40,000. It’s sold by Northumberland firm Wox Agri Services.
